Before proceeding, you should make sure that the configurations available for download will be compatible with your copy of our software. To do this, you will need to know the date your software was released. Find your software's revision date by clicking on "Help", and then "About This Program". The engineering date of your software is shown as "Revision Date".
All of the profiles available for download on the Wasatch website are in the Imaging Configuration Format introduced with version 5.0 of SoftRIP (released October 9, 2003). If your software is older than this, you should not download the imaging configurations from the Wasatch site; these files will not work with your software.
Note that Wasatch introduced a new Halftoning method called Precision Stochastic Screens (PSS) on June 7, 2004. PSS produces superior quality profiles, and has been used in all profiles created since the date of its release. If your software revision date is prior to June 7, 2004 you must not use any profiles created since June 7, 2004 as they will produce unpredictable results.
It is also important to note that improvements to SoftRIP's color management toolset are added over time. If your copy of SoftRIP is older than the creation date of the imaging configuration, you may not have all the functionality that is built into the imaging configuration, and unpredictable results may occur.
